The Energy Club (EC) brings students closer to sustainable energy related topics at TU Delft, project- and research wise. The main function of the energy club is to be the driving force in bringing together and mobilizing people involved in energy: students, professors, teachers, employees, companies and alumni joining forces and sharing information, inspiration and motivation. The Energy Club, entering the fourth year of its life with some 900 members, is a network and a platform from which many activities, projects and other spin-offs start.

We are looking for experienced, highly motivated and competent students who want to drive the energy revolution as a member of the Energy Club board. Being part of the Energy Club board will put you in a position to make a difference in the sustainable energy cause: mobilize students and staff to participate in exciting projects, organize high profile events and much more. It will enable you to directly access influential professionals in the field of energy: within our university (TUD governing board, professors), in government and industry. 

Six student assistant (0,25FTE) vacancies are available starting December 2011 until January 2013. The first month, December 2011, will be in cooperation with the Energy Club board of 2011.

Chairman
The chairman has the role of bringing together all the board members and ensures overall progress. The Chairman will be the linking pin between the EC and the Delft Energy Initiative. The chairman maintains and builds a network of people involved in energy. Your goal: To organize, grow, manage and inspire a group of excellent students on their strive for a better world. Your goal: to be the Energy Club front man/woman to the outside energy world including our university. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Coordinating the board
• Contact with the Delft Energy Initiative
• Build good contacts with the international Energy Club Network
• Create a Committee of Recommendation
• Inspire the Energy Club board and members to be creative and entrepreneurial
• Make sure everything runs efficiently
• Prepare Board Meetings 

Your skills and experience:

• You are passionate about sustainable energy related topics
• You have a good experience in building networks and preferably have a good working network of contacts within Delft and elsewhere
• You have a good leadership experience, setting goals for the team (i.e. the EC-board)
• You can work individually, taking responsibility for your work
• You have good communication skills (in person, by phone, by email)
• You have very good command of Dutch and have a good command of English

 

Commissioner External Relations & Events
The Energy Club maintains and builds a network of people involved in energy. Your goal: to contact businesses, NGO’s, governments and others to tell them about the Energy Club and to involve them in our network and activities. Getting sponsorship is the main goal. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Contact Company’s, Governments, NGO’s
• Find excellent projects, speakers and sponsors
• Find internships, job offers and thesis possibilities for students
• Give the Energy Club exposure in the (inter)national media
• You are capable of inviting and welcoming the world leaders on sustainable energy
• You have experience with organizing events. 

Your skills and experience:

• Your have very good command of Dutch (preferably native speaker), have good command of English
• You have experience with acquisition & business contacts
• You have a perfect international network
• You can work individually, taking responsibility for your work
• You have good communication skills (in person, by phone, by email)
• You are passionate about sustainable energy related topics

 

Commissioner Internal Relations & Recruitment
The Energy Club is growing as well in active as non-active members. This growth needs to continue, the target will be between 2000 and 2500 member at the end of your term and an active member involvement of around 100 students. Here for recruitment is essential. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Recruitment of members, project leaders, event organisers and students for the Green Campus
• Contact with the professors, study associations and spinn-off’s at the TU-Delft
• The Green Campus
• All Energy Day
• Build an extensive Energy Club Alumni network 

Your skills and experience:

• You are passionate about sustainable energy
• Your have very good command of Dutch (preferably native speaker), have good command of English
• You have an excellent network within the TU-Delft
• You have experience with recruitment
• You can work individually, taking responsibility for your work
• You are a social person and you have good communication skills (in person, by phone, by email)

 

Secretary
For the Energy Club networking and communication is crucial. Therefore a sectary who is experienced with websites, social networks and database’s is required in order to manage the information flow to our members. 

Your Responsibilities:

• The communication to our members
• Website, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin
• Give the Energy Club, Events & Projects exposure within the 3TU
• Update Member database
• Actively search for Sustainable Energy Events interesting for students
• Creating a membership database
• Chief editor of Energy Club website

Your skills and experience:

• You have an interested in and you are active on social networks
• You have experience with websites
• You are able to design graphics for the site and posters and flyers for events
• You can work individually, taking responsibility for your work
• You have good communication skills (in person, by phone, by email)
• You are passionate about Sustainable Energy related topics 

 

Commissioner Projects I
The Energy Club has many projects on and off campus related to sustainable energy topics. The project commissioner has the role of coordinating these projects portfolio and pick up the best projects that could be beneficial for the energy club and the university. The different projects are led by project leaders and you are expected to select, advice, motivate and help them. In addition to that, the project commissioner should build a good network with the university professors in order to be able to create communication channels of these projects to students and vice versa.

 

Your Responsibilities

• Managing a big portfolio of projects
• Coaching the project leaders
• Selecting good projects

Your skills and experience:

• You have the ambition to give TU students hands on engineering experience
• You have experience in managing a team
• You are a good team player
• You have experience with acquisition & building networks in and outside the university, and preferably have a good working network of contacts
• You can work individually, taking responsibility for your work
• You have good communication skills (in person, by phone, by email)
• You are passionate about sustainable energy related topics
• You have a good command of English

Commissioner Projects II
Same as Commissioner Projects I with the addition in Your Responsibilitities:

• Organise Events in case the Event Coordinator is not able

 

General expectations

• You are able to work flexible, you may schedule your own working hours and willing to go the extra mile
• You are committed to work as a board member for the full year (2012) plus December 2011
• You are a hard working student, looking for challenges with a drive for success
• Student assistant for 0.25 fte
