Board 2012

Chairman, Willem Kesteloo

What challenges me the most is knowing that something has to change in how we are currently consuming the world. What inspires me the most is the rapidly growing awareness thereof. What drives me the most is knowing that we are able to contribute to this movement.  My goal in life is to be part of this the best way I can.

As chairman I am responsible for the overall progress of the Energy Club. I want to achieve this by expanding our network of people involved in energy, facilitating possibilities for the highly motivated students on their strive for a better world and maintaining the high quality standards the Energy Club has chosen to stand by.

Please feel free to contact me if you want to know anything about the possibilities the Energy Club has to offer students, professors, companies and society regarding energy related issues.

Secretary & Public Relations, Clementien Fabels

Choosing to study at the TU Delft meant for me I was able to follow my passion in sustainability and especially sustainable energy. Let's save the planet with all talent TU Delft offers! When the Energy Club reached my attention I knew they can offer the perfect platform to persue this moral obligation.

As Secretary of the board of the Energy Club I am responsible for all communications and Public Relations concerning the Energy Club. If you want something promoted, please feel free to contact me about the possibilities.

Commissioner Projects, Manuel Vargas Evans

Manuel graduated from Electrical Engineering at the Universidad de Chile, Chile in 2008. During his student career, he focused on electrical mobility and renewable energy generation. Furthermore, he joined forces with his fellow classmates to successfully develop the Eolian solar car and race it at The Panasonic World Solar Challenge 2007. Later on, for three years he carried out research on smart grids; worked on electrical engineering power line systems design and finally product development. Eventually, he made the choice to focus his carrier on sustainability and energy, thus leading to his current studies as MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft. As Project Commissioner, he is looking forward to provide unique opportunities to other students in the energy and sustainable fields while they "learn by doing".

Commissioner External Relations, Mark de Grunt

After finishing my bachelor’s in Applied Physics I decided to continue my studies in Sustainable Energy Technology because I always had a passion for energy. For me becoming a board member of the Energy Club was the next logical step in adding to that experience.

As external relations commissioner I will be responsible for all contact with the Energy Club’s partners outside of the TU Delft. In the previous years the Energy Club’s member base has grown substantially and we want to become an important network link for all those member to the world outside of the university. This year I will focus on creating opportunities for our members to interact with many stakeholders in the energy and clean technology sector.
